The Second Climb Preserving Rehabilitation Potential in Aging Adults
Thursday, November 12, 2026
6:00 PM-7:30 PM EST
Host Chapter: Mid-Atlantic CMSA
Speaker: Kimberly Graham, MS, BSN, RN, is the National Workers’ Compensation Liaison and a
Brain Injury RN Case Manager with Brookhaven NeuroRehabilitation Network, serving
New England and Texas. A registered nurse since 1996, she brings three decades of
clinical and leadership experience spanning neurotrauma and critical care, emergency
nursing, rehabilitation, nursing education, program development, and healthcare
administration. Her current practice focuses on individuals with traumatic and acquired
brain injuries whose cognitive, behavioral, psychiatric, and functional needs complicate
recovery, treatment access, and placement. Kimberly collaborates with patients, families,
providers, case managers, and payers to clarify clinical needs and support appropriate
transitions across the continuum of care. An active CMSA member and national
presenter, she speaks on brain injury, complex case management, and the distinction
between medical stability and functional readiness, emphasizing practical strategies that
help professionals recognize neurobehavioral contributors and advocate for effective,
patient-centered care.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this presentation participants will be able to:
– Identify early neurobehavioral changes in aging adults that may be misinterpreted
as typical aging or psychiatric conditions.
– Differentiate between orientation-based assessment and deeper indicators of
cognitive, functional, and behavioral impairment.
– Apply pattern recognition strategies to support timely referral and
interdisciplinary intervention in complex rehabilitation cases.
Fees & Payment: CMSA Members: FREE Non-Members $20.00
